The only downside to them is that you have to keep buying those the Sweeper pad refills. There is, however, a solution to this.

You can crochet yourself your own reusable Swiffer pads which can be thrown in the washing machine. Here’s how to create the 4 1/2-inch x 10-inch pad you see below.

What You’ll Need:

Kitchen cotton yarn

An “H” hook

Directions:

Step 1.) Chain stitch 17 stitches to create a chain.

Step. 2) Single crochet into your second stitch from the hook, then single crochet into each of your stitches across your chain.

Step 3.) Turn your chain over and chain one. Single crochet into each stitch across and turn. You’re going to make 16 stitches in each row. Take this step for rows two through nine.

Step 4.) Half double crochet across your row in the front loops only and turn. You’ll do this for 16 stitches for row 10.

Step 5.) Chain two double crochet, then single crochet across and turn. You’ll have 16 stitches in each row. Take this step for rows 11 through 38.
